About The Position

IWI Auto Parts, a division of Parts Authority, is seeking Delivery Drivers for part-time positions in Cedar Rapids, IA. This is a newly created career opportunity where the company provides the vehicle. The Delivery Driver is a key contact with customers, responsible for fostering strong client relationships. Parts Authority is a rapidly growing national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools, and equipment, founded in 1973 and with over 300 locations nationwide. They pride themselves on their team and their extensive catalog of over 3 million parts. Requirements

  • Current, valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over).
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle prolonged sitting.
  • Ability to manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
  • Ability to utilize a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking, and customer interface/signature capture.
  • Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, professionally, with tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to take and follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the local area.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up and drop off automotive parts, adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.
  • Ensure orders are properly fulfilled.
  • Foster customer satisfaction and maintain workplace safety.
  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure completeness and accuracy of charges.
  • Take and follow directions from the dispatcher, adhere to assigned routes, and use navigation apps.
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Accept payments, prepare reports including invoices, return forms, and reconcile debt and credit.
  • Complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and notify the manager of any issues.
  • Assist in other store/warehouse duties such as stocking and parts pulling as assigned.
  • Secure and transfer cash or other assets.
