About The Position

The Delivery Driver plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization's customers receive the auto parts they need promptly and efficiently. The driver's ability to execute efficient delivery routes and make accurate and timely deliveries builds customer loyalty and contributes to the organization's reputation for reliability and excellent customer service. Additionally, the driver's adherence to safety procedures and traffic laws minimizes the risk of accidents and associated costs, which contribute to the organization's financial success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid and clear driver’s license.
  • Must be 21 years of age or greater to drive a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) with a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Medical DOT (Department of Transportation) Card must be obtained and cleared upon hire.
  • Ability to use cell phones, tablets, and EZ Route delivery software.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Must be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Certificate preferred.
  • Automotive experience preferred.
  • 1-year minimum professional driving experience operating a box truck and/or van, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and plan efficient routes while transporting parts.
  • Ensure safe, efficient, timely, and damage-free transportation of goods.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations for commercial motor vehicles, including hours-of-service and vehicle logs.
  • Ensure vehicles are scheduled for service and repairs.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and basic maintenance.
  • Operate vehicles safely and comply with Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Follow Company safety procedures, including speed limits, driver courtesy, and construction zone awareness.
  • Report all driving violations, vehicle concerns, or damage immediately to the supervisor.
  • Follow loading and unloading procedures, ensuring parts are secured properly.
  • Use appropriate parts handling equipment, distribute weight correctly, and follow safety protocols.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inventory/manifest checklists and report any damage.
  • Collect COD payments (cash, checks, credit cards) and record them.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, sales staff, and dispatch.
  • Ensure all returns are picked up, documented, and verified with the shop.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned.
