The Delivery Driver Trainee trains to deliver on an established route with a certified trainer to deliver and merchandise products. The goal is to become a Class A Delivery Driver. This role requires the completion of all tasks in the CDL training program to become a local delivery driver. The trainee must possess a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a CDL permit and medical card. The primary location for this position is Idaho Falls, Idaho. The driver will operate a truck over an established route to deliver products, driving in various conditions including highway, rural, and city streets, all while complying with federal and state regulations. This role involves working without direct supervision to ensure all products for established routes are delivered. Effective communication of issues and customer concerns to the supervisor is essential. The driver will record sales, buy-back, delivery, and variance information on daily sales or delivery records. An operational knowledge of computerized inventory and invoicing systems is required to accurately record stops, deliveries, and any errors on the route. The use of hand trucks and electric pallet jacks is also part of the duties. The role includes collecting or picking up empty containers or rejected/unsold merchandise. Conducting and/or supervising truck loading and unloading, and securing loads are also responsibilities. The driver will issue or obtain customer signatures on receipts for pickup or delivery. Daily inspection and routine maintenance (fluid, air, oil) of the truck, along with maintaining a clean vehicle, are required. The role may also involve constructing or assembling display aids from company-provided Point of Sale (POS) materials. Wearing a company-provided uniform and safety devices as appropriate to comply with safety standards and procedures is mandatory. Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
