About The Position

Pepsi Bottling Ventures is seeking a Trainee-DOT to learn all aspects of a Route Delivery Driver role, including safe and efficient operation of a delivery vehicle. The trainee services accounts along a designated route, including Bulk, Small Format, On-Premise, and Dollar General accounts. Duties include delivering, unloading, and merchandising products in customer accounts according to PBV and customer standards while following company, state, and federal safety and driving regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to two years of commercial driving experience with a Class A CDL.
• Class A CDL.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical before the first day of employment.
• Positive attitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic financial calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Strong focus on customer satisfaction.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to meet PBV driving qualifications.
• Ability to work the hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections according to DOT requirements and promptly report problems to the fleet department.
• Safely drive and maneuver trucks with a gross vehicle weight under or over 26,000 pounds.
• Safely unload products and follow proper check-in procedures.
• Stock shelves, racks, coolers, and displays, ensuring proper product rotation.
• Break down boxes and remove flats, damaged products, and empty cases to ensure proper credit is given.
• Obtain required signatures, store stamps, and invoices for proper end-of-day settlement.
• Communicate issues to appropriate store personnel and management.
• Follow all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
