Delivery Driver / Shop Associate
About The Position
S.A. Comunale is seeking a Delivery Driver / Shop Associate. This position drives a company truck to transport materials and equipment to specific construction job sites. This position is responsible for cleanliness and organization of the shop. We provide industry-leading, end-to-end fire protection, mechanical, and HVAC services. Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- 2+ years of related work experience is required.
- Ability to obtain a current DOT Medical Card is required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required.
- Previous experience operating a forklift is required.
- Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word and Excel) applications is required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous purchasing/inventory experience is a plus.
- Vocational or industry trade school is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Verifies and secures loads.
- Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
- Drives truck to assigned destination(s).
- Assists workers in unloading and loading truck when required.
- Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, etc.
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
- Conveys materials and items from receiving to storage or to other designated areas.
- Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
- Fills work orders, or requests for materials, tools or other stock items.
- Maintains inventory records.
- Maintains cleanliness for shop/warehouse/storage yard/parking lot/offices as needed.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, repaired when necessary, and inspected properly.
- Utilizes tow behind trailer to make deliveries and pick-ups.
- Delivers and picks up permit applications, permits, and approved drawings.
- Must be able to work OT and off hour shifts as required.
