About The Position

The primary purpose of the Delivery Relief (DR) will serve as primary backup to deliver and service accounts in any route in the absence of the assigned driver. Delivery Relief will promote a safe work environment.

Requirements

  • Basic training in an office or operations.
  • Knowledge of basic office software and office technology, or warehouse/delivery technology.
  • First-line production supervisors over semi-skilled operations, and the like.
  • Equivalent to 1-3 practical trades or training.
  • Over 3 months up to and including 6 months of experience.
  • CDL-A License and ABC Beer permit required, as well as a driving record (MVR) within Company Driving Points Policy.
  • Ability to read, write, complete simple forms and understand simple written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • The job entails considerable physical effort consisting of: Continuously lifting or moving average-weight material, or Continuously lifting or moving light-weighted material in difficult work positions, or Frequently moving or lifting heavy-weight material, or Frequently lifting or moving average-weight material in difficult work positions, or Occasionally lifting or moving heavy-weight material in difficult work positions, or In each case expending equivalent effort pulling, pushing, or carrying.

  • Internal candidates must have a recommendation from their manager or department head.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the company in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service.
  • Promote safe work practices to include frequent behavior-based safety observations.
  • Confer with Delivery Supervisors to resolve customer problems, opportunities, competitive activity in your market, and potential overage situations.
  • Is familiar with routes in all areas and departments to ensure flexibility and route coverage.
  • Is familiar with all types of delivery equipment, including, but not limited to pallet jacks, dock and dock-leveler, hand trucks, trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain a friendly, working relationship with the Manager on each account on all routes in assigned area.
  • Listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Prepare invoice, collect payment from customers and record transactions on customer receipt.
  • Check in product with Store Manager, following store policy.
  • Restock displays, coolers, and cold box with new product, maintain product rotation in backroom, cooler, and on displays.
  • Responsible for adhering to Overage Beer Policy.
  • Perform routine maintenance on trucks and comply with all FMCSR, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintain safe driving record and comply with company driving policy.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
  • Adhere to dress code, including safety “non-negotiables,” and be properly groomed at all times.
  • Obey all Federal, State, and local laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
