These PCs include a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom, operating under unique trade names with a customized business approach. Able Distributing Company, a trade name of Hajoca, is seeking a Delivery Driver Non CDL for its Wausau, WI location. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, thrives on customer service, is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoys working independently.

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years thereafter.
  • Know the laws, rules, and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations, delivering to various locations including job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, or other wholesalers.
  • Load Hajoca merchandise onto the truck at the Profit Center, ensuring it is properly secured to prevent shifting, damage, or falling, and confirming necessary unloading equipment is available.
  • Understand shipping documents for each delivery and possess accurate directions to each destination.
  • Review shipping documentation to ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload the correct merchandise from the truck and place it as directed by the receiving party, obtaining a legible signature for all delivered merchandise per Company policy.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries before releasing materials.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load merchandise onto the truck from other locations, including items picked up from vendors, returned by customers, or purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses encountered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and its parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departing the Hajoca location, and keep the truck cab and body clean.
  • Inform management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report at the end of the workday if driving a vehicle over 10,001 lbs. GVWR and a defect or deficiency is found.
  • Remove truck keys at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete assigned safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
