About The Position

Moore Supply Company, a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking a Delivery Driver Non CDL for their Mckinney, TX location. Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, founded in 1858 and operating on principles of "Service, Integrity, Reliability." The company emphasizes a decentralized business philosophy where each location, known as a Profit Center (PC), is managed independently. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring order accuracy, collecting payments for cash sales, resolving customer discrepancies, and identifying sales leads. The driver is also responsible for vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues.

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years thereafter.
  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations to various destinations.
  • Load Hajoca merchandise onto the truck at the Profit Center, ensuring it is properly secured.
  • Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
  • Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it as directed by the customer, obtaining a signature per Company policy.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing material.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies.
  • Load merchandise from vendor locations, customer returns, and other wholesalers onto the truck.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspect the truck and its parts for safe operating condition before departure and keep the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report for vehicles over 10,001 lbs GVWR if a defect is found.
  • Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
