About The Position

Roberts-Hamilton, a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking a Delivery Driver Non CDL for their Minneapolis, MN location. Hajoca Corporation is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, founded in 1858. The company operates in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center (PC), is run by a Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring order accuracy, collecting payments, resolving discrepancies, and providing sales leads. The company emphasizes a culture of service, integrity, and reliability, with a focus on talented people and relationships of trust.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles
  • Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations to various destinations including job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, facilities of other wholesalers, or other locations as directed by management.
  • Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered, securing the load properly to prevent shifting, damage, or falling.
  • Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
  • Understand shipping documents associated with merchandise for each delivery and have accurate directions to each destination.
  • Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it at the designated location.
  • Obtain legible signatures for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing material to the customer.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load the truck at other locations with merchandise, including items picked up from vendors, returned by customers, and purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts and accessories to determine safe operating condition prior to departure.
  • Keep the truck clean of debris in the cab and body.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • At the end of the workday, remove keys from the truck and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
