About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Delivery Driver Non CDL to join their team in Tulsa, OK. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, understanding shipping documents, collecting payments, resolving discrepancies, and providing sales leads. The driver will also be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the truck, reporting mechanical issues, and completing required training. Hajoca is a large, privately-held wholesale distributor of plumbing, heating & cooling, and industrial supplies, operating in a decentralized environment where each location functions as a Profit Center (PC).

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years.
  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, especially commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations to various destinations.
  • Load Hajoca merchandise onto the truck at the Profit Center, ensuring it is properly secured.
  • Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
  • Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Review shipping documentation to ensure order accuracy.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it as directed by the customer.
  • Obtain legible signatures for all delivered merchandise per Company policy.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing material.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies.
  • Load the truck with merchandise from vendor locations, customer returns, and other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
  • Inspect the truck and its parts for safe operating condition before departure.
  • Keep the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
  • Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report if a defect or deficiency is found on vehicles over 10,001 lbs GVWR.
  • Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
