About The Position

Moore Supply Co., a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious Delivery Driver Non CDL to join their team at the Texarkana, TX location. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, understanding shipping documents, ensuring order accuracy, collecting payments for cash sales, resolving customer discrepancies, and providing sales leads. The driver will also be responsible for daily truck inspections and reporting any mechanical issues. This position offers the opportunity to work independently and contribute to a company that values relationships and customer service.

Requirements

Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
Be at least 21 years old.
Possess a proper and valid driver’s license.
Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver.
Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years.
Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles, especially commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations.
Be able to apply and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
Read, write, speak and understand English.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations, delivering to various destinations.
Load Hajoca merchandise onto the truck, ensuring it is properly secured.
Ensure necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to delivery destinations.
Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
Unload correct merchandise and place it as directed by the receiving party, obtaining signatures per policy.
Collect and secure outstanding payments for cash sale deliveries before releasing material.
Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies.
Load merchandise from vendor locations, customer returns, and other wholesalers onto the truck.
Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
Inspect the truck and its parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure.
Keep the truck clean.
Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report for vehicles over 10,001 lbs. GVWR if any defects are found.
Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
