About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is seeking a Delivery Driver Non CDL for their Knoxville, TN location. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, understanding shipping documents, resolving discrepancies, collecting payments, and providing sales leads. The driver will also be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the truck, completing inspection reports, and participating in safety training. Requirements

Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
Be at least 21 years old
Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver
Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and at least every two years thereafter.
Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
Read, write, speak and understand English.
Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations.
Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise to be delivered, ensuring proper security.
Understand shipping documents and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
Review shipping documentation and ensure order accuracy.
Unload correct merchandise from the truck and place it as directed by the customer.
Obtain legible signatures for all merchandise delivered per Company policy and procedure.
Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries prior to releasing the material.
Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
Load the truck at other locations with merchandise (e.g., from vendors, returns, other wholesalers).
Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses.
Inspect the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure.
Keep the truck clean of debris in the cab and body.
Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck.
Complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when driving a vehicle over 10,001 lbs. GVWR if a defect or deficiency is found.
Remove keys from the truck at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
