About The Position

Hajoca Corporation is seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious individual to join their team as a Delivery Driver Non CDL (Seasonal) at their Oklahoma City, OK location. This role involves operating trucks safely, loading and unloading merchandise, ensuring order accuracy, collecting payments, resolving discrepancies, and providing sales leads. The position requires a commitment to safety, compliance with company policies and regulations, and the ability to work independently. This is a seasonal position expected to last through the summer.

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 10,000 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a proper and valid driver’s license
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations, delivering to various destinations including job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, facilities of other wholesalers, or other locations as directed by management.
  • Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise, securing the load properly to prevent shifting, damage, or falling, and ensuring necessary equipment for safe unloading is available.
  • Understand shipping documents, ensure order accuracy, and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck, place it as directed by the receiving party, and obtain a legible signature for all delivered merchandise per Company policy.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries before releasing material to the customer.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load the truck at other locations with merchandise, including items picked up from vendors, returned by customers, and purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure, and keep the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck and complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report if a defect or deficiency is found (for vehicles over 10,001 lbs. GVWR).
  • Remove truck keys at the end of the workday and store them in the approved location.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
