About The Position

The Delivery Driver DOT represents Behler-Young while safely and courteously delivering products and providing superior customer service. The role is part of an efficient distribution team and includes driving delivery vehicles, loading and unloading at delivery sites, branches, and the distribution center, and completing required paperwork. When not driving, the employee may work in the warehouse. The position may also require covering teammates on other shifts during vacations or other leaves. The usual schedule starts at 4:00 a.m. and ends in the early afternoon, Monday through Friday. The driver must follow DOT and other safety regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as duties assigned by the supervisor. Dash cameras are used to support safe driving.

Requirements

Chauffeur's license with a good driving record of no more than 4 points.
Experience driving a box truck and a small flat bed truck.
Knowledge of warehouse and DOT safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to use or learn to use a lift gate, pallet jack, and two-wheeled hand cart while driving.
Ability to work with warehouse equipment including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, order pickers, clamp truck, and pallet jack.
Customer-service orientation, teamwork, attention to detail, and willingness to complete administrative duties.

Responsibilities

Safely and courteously operate the delivery vehicle.
Load and unload trucks at delivery sites, branches, and the distribution center.
Provide superior customer service while representing Behler-Young.
Follow safety and security policies, guidelines, and legal regulations, including DOT regulations.
Complete and submit required paperwork.
Perform warehouse work when not driving.
Cover teammates on other shifts during vacations or other leaves when asked.
Follow duties assigned by the supervisor.
