With decades of expertise, our trench division delivers comprehensive solutions from design to on-site installation guidance. CDL drivers transport goods between locations using tractor trailers and truck-mounted knuckle-boom cranes. They often travel extensive distances to deliver their loads and must adhere to traffic and safety regulations while still making deliveries on time. Drivers must hold a commercial driver’s license and maintain their medical certification as required. CDL drivers must be comfortable operating heavy machinery and must have the hand-eye coordination to do so safely. They are also legally required to have strong eyesight, hearing, and overall physical fitness.
Requirements
- Valid Class A driver’s license
- Current medical certification required
- Must pass a background check and drug test
- Skilled in operating large vehicles safely
- Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
- Physically and mentally fit
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- 2+ years of proven tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.
Responsibilities
- Loading, unloading, and securing equipment for transport
- Local and regional hauling of equipment
- Perform daily commercial vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries
- Obtain required signatures on rental contracts, pickups, and exchange forms
- Demonstrate safe and proper equipment usage at point of delivery
- Complete reports for outgoing and returned equipment
- Complete logbooks and trip sheets in accordance with D.O.T. and company record-keeping requirements
- Assist in the warehouse and yard when not driving
