About The Position

All Tex Pipe & Supply, a trade name of Hajoca Corporation, is looking for a Delivery Driver CDL at their Dallas, TX location. This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, thrives on providing great customer service, is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoys working independently.

Requirements

  • Be able to drive a vehicle over 26,001 lbs.
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) for the vehicle(s) being driven, with hazmat endorsement if operating a vehicle that requires placarding for hazardous materials.
  • Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with Company policy.
  • Be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination before beginning work and again at least every two years while employed and performing this job function.
  • Know the laws, rules and regulations governing driving motor vehicles in general, and commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations in particular.
  • Be able to safely operate any delivery vehicle, including commercial motor vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs. or more.
  • Know of, be able to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Be able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors and co-workers.
  • Be able to remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, and/or emergency situations.
  • Be able to learn to operate warehouse material-handling equipment.
  • Be able to learn and operate the computer related systems used in the delivery process.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Operate trucks safely and in compliance with Company rules, applicable laws, and regulations, delivering to various destinations including job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, or other locations as directed by management.
  • Load the truck at the Profit Center with Hajoca merchandise, ensuring it is properly secured and that necessary equipment for safe unloading is available. Affix appropriate DOT hazmat truck placards if hauling hazardous materials in excess of 1,000 lbs.
  • Understand shipping documents, ensure order accuracy, and have accurate directions to each delivery destination.
  • Unload correct merchandise from the truck, place it as directed by the receiving party, and obtain a legible signature for all delivered merchandise per Company policy.
  • Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash sale deliveries before releasing material to the customer.
  • Work with customers at the delivery site to resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately.
  • Load the truck at other locations with merchandise, including items picked up from vendors, returned by customers, and purchased from other wholesalers.
  • Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered during deliveries.
  • Inspect the truck and required parts/accessories for safe operating condition before departure, and keep the truck clean.
  • Advise management of any mechanical problems with the truck and complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report if a defect or deficiency is found on vehicles with a GVWR of 10,001 lbs. or more at the end of the workday.
  • Remove keys from the truck and store them in the approved location at the end of the workday.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management.
