About The Position
The Dispatch/Delivery Assistant supports daily trucking and logistics operations related to the delivery, loading, and unloading of cabinets. This role assists with route coordination, driver communication, load accuracy, and delivery scheduling to ensure timely, safe, and efficient transportation from the warehouse to job sites or customers. The position plays a critical role in maintaining operational flow between production, warehouse, drivers, and customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience in trucking delivery, logistics coordination, or construction material delivery preferred
- Familiarity with cabinet logistics, deliveries, or construction job sites is a strong plus
- Understanding of: Load planning and delivery sequence, Delivery documentation, Warehouse/shipping coordination
- Proficient with dispatch/delivery systems, GPS tracking, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills with drivers, warehouse staff, and field contacts
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliveries simultaneously
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Responsibilities
- Assist the Dispatcher/Delivery with daily truck scheduling, route planning, and delivery assignments
- Coordinate cabinet load sequencing to ensure correct delivery order and minimize damage
- Communicate with drivers regarding pickup times, delivery windows, route changes, and job status
- Track deliveries, delays, and returns; escalate issues as needed
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs
- Verify delivery information: job site address, contact person, access requirements, and unloading conditions
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to ensure loads are ready on time
- Monitor driver compliance with company policies and DOT requirements (hours, documentation, safety)
- Support problem‑solving for delivery issues such as missing cabinets, job site constraints, or load adjustments
- Perform administrative tasks related to transportation and dispatch operations
