About The Position

The Deliver Driver/Warehouse Associate performs delivery and warehouse duties for Austin Hose. The role includes inspecting vehicles and trailers before use, making deliveries safely and on time, maintaining delivery records, verifying and loading orders, and keeping the delivery bay and warehouse areas clean and safe. The position also requires flexibility to work overtime or on call and to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• At least six months of driving and warehouse operations experience.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Driving history that meets and maintains qualification for the corporate safety program.
• Ability to learn and become proficient in Austin Hose warehouse and delivery methods, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and interpret road maps.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and supervisors.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work assignments.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, management, and other personnel.
• Must be able to pass random drug tests.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Class CDL.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily pre-trip inspection reports for each vehicle before driving it.
• Perform pre-trip inspections on trailers used for deliveries.
• Drive safely, refrain from texting while driving, and use a hands-free phone.
• Make deliveries on time and notify a superior or customer of delays.
• Report vehicle or trailer maintenance problems to a superior.
• Maintain a daily delivery log with invoice numbers and delivery times.
• Collect orders for delivery and verify their accuracy against pick tickets; obtain supervisor sign-off before loading.
• Load the pickup and/or trailer according to delivery stops and ensure items are securely and safely loaded.
• Check out the credit card assigned to the vehicle being used for delivery.
• Turn in credit card and other receipts upon return and account for all receipts.
• Maintain the delivery bay by disposing of empty pallets and trash.
• Put orders on assigned racks and keep floors and walkways clean and free of hazards.
• Manage time effectively during deliveries and warehouse work; use idle time to help the team or learn tasks.
• Remain flexible, including working overtime or on call and performing additional or newly assigned responsibilities.
