About The Position

The Deli Team Member is responsible for providing outstanding guest service while preparing fresh, high-quality food in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position plays an important role in ensuring our deli is fully stocked, visually appealing, and ready to serve guests throughout the day. Whether you're preparing made-to-order sandwiches, stocking fresh products, or assisting guests with their selections, you'll help create the exceptional experience Coffee Cup guests expect. This position requires a rotating schedule that includes days, afternoons, rotating weekends, and some holidays.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes days, afternoons, rotating weekends, and some holidays.
  • Frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with guests and fellow team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous restaurant, deli, retail, food service, or customer service experience is helpful but not required.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome every guest with a friendly and helpful attitude.
  • Answer questions and make product recommendations.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and courteous service.
  • Create a positive experience that encourages guests to return.
  • Prepare sandwiches, salads, hot foods, and other deli offerings according to company recipes and standards.
  • Slice meats and cheeses to order.
  • Wrap, weigh, label, and merchandise deli products.
  • Maintain proper food quality, freshness, and presentation.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Operate the cash register and accurately process guest purchases.
  • Operate deli equipment including meat and cheese slicers, ovens, fryers, microwaves, scales, and other food preparation equipment safely.
  • Fill, rotate, stock, and merchandise products to maintain a fresh and attractive deli.
  • Monitor product freshness using First In, First Out (FIFO) practices.
  • Assist with opening, closing, stocking, and cleaning responsibilities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
  • Clean food preparation equipment, counters, displays, and guest service areas.
  • Follow all company safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
