About The Position

Homestead Co-op is hiring a temporary Full-Time Deli Supervisor (Clerk II) at our Carman Food Store location for a 12-month term. The Deli Supervisor (Clerk II) is responsible for overseeing sales activities and service levels within the department, including adherence to asset protection, safe working conditions, Homestead Co-op brand/image standards, and product regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of retail and/or customer service experience required.
Your Food Safe/Food Handler Certification as required (or are willing to obtain).
Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively and stand for long periods of time.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
Completed a post-secondary program in Culinary Arts or a related field would be considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience in a deli, food production, or fresh food retail environment is considered an asset.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing demands.
Proven ability to deliver strong customer service and resolve customer concerns effectively is an asset.
Demonstrated experience in merchandising, inventory control, and food handling practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support the team, fostering a positive work environment and driving shift/unit objectives, including participation in recruitment and development.
Respond to customer inquiries, assess needs, and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction.
Deliver and support consistent, efficient, and friendly customer service; step in for direct service as needed.
Assist the manager with scheduling, work assignments, training coordination, and performance feedback to meet operational goals.
As per FIM (fresh item management) production requirements prepare, package and merchandise production items.
Additional duties as assigned to support the department and department manager.
