About The Position

The Deli Specialist provides excellence in the deli department by ensuring product freshness, merchandising accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. The role supports deli inventory accuracy, rotation, product presentation, guest engagement, and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events. It contributes to an exceptional guest experience while maintaining operational integrity through hospitality, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements; grasp; bend; reach; lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; and work in extreme temperatures.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods, including up to 4 hours without a break or as required by law.
• Must wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deli products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.
• Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of deli items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness and ensure proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Support compliance during key item transitions and promotional events.
• Follow company policies, food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures.
• Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach on the sales floor.
