About The Position

The Deli Slicer is responsible for the safe and accurate operation of slicing equipment to portion deli meats and cheeses according to customer specifications and company standards. This role requires precision, consistency, and strict adherence to safety and sanitation procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience operating deli slicing equipment preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures consistently
  • Understanding of food handling and cross-contamination prevention
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use hands and arms repetitively for slicing tasks
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move product throughout the shift
  • Ability to safely operate commercial slicing equipment

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate deli slicing equipment in accordance with company safety policies and manufacturer guidelines
  • Slice meats and cheeses accurately to customer specifications, including thickness and portion size
  • Monitor portion control to reduce waste and maintain shrink standards
  • Ensure product presentation meets company quality expectations
  • Maintain clean and sanitized slicing equipment before, during, and after use
  • Provide knowledgeable and friendly customer service and interactions
  • Follow strict food safety standards, including temperature control and cross-contamination prevention
  • Label and package sliced products accurately when required
  • Communicate equipment concerns or maintenance needs to management promptly
  • Support deli team members during peak service periods
