About The Position

Valley Natural Foods, a community-owned cooperative in Burnsville MN is looking for a dependable and upbeat Full-Time Deli Service Counter team member. This role involves greeting and assisting customers, serving various deli items, slicing meats and cheeses, preparing sandwiches and sides, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. The ideal candidate will be friendly, team-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and have open availability including one closing and one weekend shift.

Requirements

• Must be 18+
• Friendly disposition, excellent service and communication skills
• Able to be flexible to the changing needs of the business
• Regular, prioritized predictable attendance
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Open availability with one closing and one weekend shift required

Nice To Haves

• Food service or retail experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems
• Previous customer service and/or cash handling experience
• Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives
• Flexibility to pick up additional shifts is a plus!

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with friendly, attentive service at our deli counter
• Serve hot bar, cold case, and grab-and-go items with care and attention to portioning and presentation
• Slice meats and cheeses to order and prepare sandwiches and sides
• Maintain cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards in all areas
• Work cooperatively with other deli team members to support smooth, efficient operations
