About The Position

The Deli Manager supervises the deli department and ensures that Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained. The manager is responsible for sales, shrink, profits, inventory, product quality, sanitation, safety, labor budgets, scheduling, and the training and performance of deli department hosts. The role also performs deli preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, guest service, and PA announcements as needed.

Requirements

Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to read and understand information and directions.
Knowledge of deli operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively with the Store Manager and Merchandiser.
Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from deli department staff.
Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the deli department.
Maintain desired inventory and supply levels.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain department sanitation and safety according to Lowes Foods standards.
Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help deli department hosts meet performance standards.
Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service as necessary.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Make PA announcements.
