As the Deli Manager, you will be responsible for the overall operation and success of the deli department. Your role involves managing a team of deli associates, ensuring quality and freshness in deli offerings, and providing excellent customer service. Requirements

• Understanding of food safety regulations and guidelines for food preparation and handling.
• Knowledge of deli products and offerings, including different types of meats, cheeses, and prepared foods.
• Familiarity with inventory management and ordering procedures.
• Ability to provide catering services, giving quotes for food items and overseeing the production of items to meet specific dates and times.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and customers.
• Proficiency in food preparation techniques and recipe development.
• Skill in managing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
• Ability to address challenges and find solutions to meet customer and operational needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and management.
• Ability to lift heavy items properly and utilize proper knife skills to prevent injury.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a managerial role, preferably in a deli or food service environment.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train deli associates, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
• Oversee the production and presentation of deli items, including sandwiches, salads, smoker food items, and hot entrees.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain stock levels and meet customer demand.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health codes, including proper handling and storage of deli products.
• Assist customers with product inquiries, provide recommendations, and address any concerns or complaints.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the deli department, including food prep areas, display cases, and storage areas.
• Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, achieve financial goals, and increase profitability in the deli department.
• Collaborate with other departments and store management to coordinate promotions and events.
• Produce Meals Made Simple and oversee presentation.
