About The Position

The Service Deli Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of the Deli Department, ensuring high-quality food preparation, exceptional customer service, and strong sales performance. This role oversees daily operations, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and drives a fresh, well-stocked, and visually appealing department.

Requirements

  • Previous deli, food service, or grocery experience required
  • Knowledge of food preparation, safety, and sanitation practices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily deli operations including food preparation, cooking, slicing, packaging, and stocking
  • Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations, service cases, and prep areas
  • Provide outstanding customer service and ensure team members deliver the same
  • Assist customers with product selection, special orders, and recommendations
  • Create a welcoming, fresh, and appetizing department environment
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
  • Maintain proper food handling, temperature controls, dating, and rotation practices
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely and cleaned according to standards
  • Manage ordering to maintain proper inventory levels while minimizing waste and shrink
  • Control food costs through accurate production planning and portion control
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and product rotation
  • Execute service case displays, hot case offerings, and grab-and-go presentations
  • Support ad features, promotions, and seasonal items to drive sales
  • Ensure accurate pricing and clear signage throughout the department
  • Supervise, schedule, and train deli associates
  • Delegate tasks and ensure completion of daily production and service goals
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and recognition to build a strong team
