About The Position

The County Market Deli Cook duties include providing excellent customer service, cooking recipes, gaining product knowledge, and working in a safe manner. This role involves preparing hot case foods, monitoring stock levels, and maintaining a clean and safe work area according to food safety standards and Health Code guidelines. The position also requires adherence to all store and department policies and procedures, promoting established programs, and acting as a safety role model.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
• Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication), weights and measures.
• Customer service skills.
• Cooking experience.
• Food Safety Knowledge.

• Ability to multi-task.
• Slip resistant shoes with closed toe and heel.

• Use of standard deli equipment including knives, slicers, ovens, rotisseries, and fryers.
• Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, communicate with associates and customers, taste and smell, and lift/move up to 20 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to sit, balance, perform overhead lifting, and lift/move up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Close, distance, and peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, ability to distinguish colors, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior guest service and ensure absolute customer satisfaction.
