About The Position
As a Deli Clerk, you will be the friendly face of our deli counter, helping our customers discover delicious food while ensuring our department shines. You will connect with customers by providing exceptional service, crafting delicious food, showcasing quality products, maintaining freshness, and ensuring safety in the workplace.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Comfortable working with the public and greeting, speaking with, and assisting customers
- Attention to detail, ensuring duties are completed correctly and on time
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
Nice To Haves
- Some previous deli or food service experience, highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service by warmly greeting guests, answering questions, and assisting with purchases at the counter, on the floor, or over the phone.
- Prepare fresh, crowd-pleasing cold salads, dips, and grab-and-go favorites like wraps, sandwiches, pizzas, and custom party trays.
- Package, wrap, price, and beautifully merchandise deli products to make our display cases look irresistible.
- Maintain product knowledge, check dates for peak freshness, and properly rotate stock.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment (slicers, ovens, fryers, knives) and maintain a clean, sanitized workspace by washing dishes, sweeping, and mopping.
