About The Position

The Deli Clerk is responsible for maintaining the deli-bakery department by stocking, pricing, packaging, and cleaning. This role involves operating equipment safely, producing deli-bakery products, and performing various tasks to ensure a neat and efficient work area. The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift items up to 50 pounds, and work in temperature extremes.

Requirements

Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in temperature extremes (frozen foods & storage cooler maximum low temperature, -10 degrees).
Follows dress code.

Follows established safety policies and procedures.
Works well with others.
Subject to pre-employment background and drug screening.

Ability to lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Rotates, stocks, and straightens merchandise and supplies.
Correctly prices all merchandise according to departmental guidelines.
Performs proper wrapping and packaging procedures, using the correct size tray and plastic wrap and/or container.
Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures.
Cleans all required deli-bakery department tools and equipment.
Follows proper procedure for producing all bakery/deli products.
Maintains a neat and clean work area.
Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
Performs all job functions with limited supervision.
Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
Orders product according to established guidelines in the absence of the deli manager.
Other duties as assigned.
