Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization. The Deli Bakery HMS Assistant Manager will manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, including supervising the performance of all duties and responsibilities of Deli Bakery HMS Associates. This role involves daily management of labor and coaching associates to achieve productivity expectations. It requires providing leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of the Brand Strategy and Culture, supporting the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results. The position emphasizes maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, easy, flexible, and friendly customer service, creating a positive shopping experience. The role model outstanding, friendly customer service and utilizes product knowledge to offer solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. This role also involves controlling store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment, and understanding company tools like financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems. The Assistant Manager must understand and utilize the Average Cost Inventory System (ACIS). They are responsible for ensuring department appearance, quality, variety, workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation are consistently maintained. This includes ensuring Deli Bakery HMS schedules are written to provide extraordinary customer service at all times, and creating schedules every other week. The role ensures that ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning, and displaying of merchandise are done in accordance with policies and guidelines. It also involves observing and correcting unsafe conditions, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, recording and reporting accidents, monitoring shrink, and ensuring proper utilization of advertising and sales promotion materials. Adherence to all company guidelines, policies, and standard practices, maintaining security standards, and maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance are also key responsibilities. Successfully completing Computer Based Training (CBT), Training Packet, and Training Aid courses is required.
