Deicing Coordination Specialist
About The Position
The Deicing Coordination Specialist will be responsible for analyzing, gathering, and compiling contact details for deicing vendors at Kalitta Air locations. This role ensures that deicing procedures and manuals are provided to vendors and maintains an internal database of vendor contacts. The specialist will inquire about deicing/anti-icing fluid types, quantities, and pricing, and negotiate pricing with vendors. They will also evaluate new operation locations, identify necessary deicing vendors, and follow up with vendors on delays and performance issues. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, familiarity with deicing programs and quality control pools, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- High School graduate
- Must hold a valid driver's license
- Ability to read, Write and understand spoken and written English.
- Ability to write fuel slips and complete reports.
- Able to understand directions given.
- Understand the fueling manual.
- Experience & knowledge working with Ground Handlers, FBOs, Airports, etc, in reference to deicing/anti-icing procedures.
- Experience negotiating pricing and contract terms in reference to deicing/anti-icing.
- Experience and knowledge of equipment needed to service Kalitta Air’s fleet adequately for deicing/anti-icing services.
- Familiarity with the Standardized International Aircraft Ground Deice Program (SIAGDP).
- Familiarity with IATA Deicing and Anti Icing Quality Control Pool (DAQCP).
- Possess analytical ability where problems may be complex and not immediately apparent.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in Aviation, Logistics, Ground ops, highly preferred.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, gather, compile, and provide station contact details for all deicing vendors at locations operated by Kalitta Air.
- Ensure that Kalitta Air’s deicing procedures and manuals are provided to deicing vendors.
- Maintain an internal database of contact details for each location.
- Inquire with deicing vendors type, quantity, and pricing of deicing/anti-icing fluids.
- Negotiate with deicing vendors pricing for services by season/year.
- Proactively evaluate new operation locations, and if climate requires it, identify deicing vendors.
- Share contacts with the vendor internally for further coordination and audits.
- Follow up with vendors on delays and performance issues.
