About The Position
The Resource Connection of Amador and Calaveras is hiring a part-time Degreed Nutritionist for its Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. The role promotes optimal nutrition for pregnant women and young children through nutrition assessments, counseling, education, and breastfeeding education. The Nutritionist works with WIC participants in Amador and Calaveras counties, supports WIC Nutrition Assistants and the Breastfeeding Coordinator, and collaborates with a team focused on community health. This is a temporary, non-remote position scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 24 hours per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a closely related field.
- Meet the minimum competencies specified by the California State Department of Health Supplemental Nutrition Program for WIC.

- One year of experience in a community health care services setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nutrition assessments, counseling, and education for WIC participants in Amador and Calaveras counties.
- Provide support to WIC Nutrition Assistants.
- Engage individuals and groups in nutrition education using the Participant Centered Education (PCE) approach.
- Support the Breastfeeding Coordinator in planning and conducting nutrition education and breastfeeding contacts.
- Contribute to special projects, including producing nutrition education materials.
- Participate in WIC-related consortia or task forces.
- Participate in WIC outreach activities.
- Collaborate with a diverse team committed to community health.
