About The Position

The Defense Mission Specialist will apply extensive U.S. Navy mission expertise and advisory skills to support teams addressing complex client problems and developing solutions to help keep the nation safe. The role supports Navy capability development, working alongside thought leaders to research, develop, and analyze mission-related issues and produce high-priority deliverables in coordination with subject matter experts and stakeholders. The position contributes to shaping the future of maritime operations in alignment with top naval priorities.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of active-duty experience with the U.S. Navy.
• Experience in multiple Navy warfare or mission areas.
• Experience in operational and exercise planning.
• Ability to author high-quality products using Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to compile input from multiple authors, research discrepancies, and analyze results.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Nice To Haves

• Experience serving on an afloat staff.
• Experience working on an Echelon III or higher staff.
• Knowledge of the operational level of war and Distributed Maritime Operations.
• Ability to work in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment with aggressive project timelines.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• Master’s degree.
