This position is for a development program manager in the aerospace/defense sector, with primary responsibility of overseeing the day-to-day development operations of an aerospace/defense program and transitioning the program into full rate production. Requirements

7-10 Years of Program Management Experience
5+ Years of Program Management Experience in Aerospace/Defense
Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field
Must be a US citizen

Nice To Haves

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Master’s Degree in Related Field

Responsibilities

Analyzes program activities: acquisition program planning, proposal pricing, financial management, cost analysis, management techniques, and documentation requirements.
Compiles and reviews budgets against actual performance, previous budget figures, estimated revenue, and other data sources to control budgets and provide proper financial decisions.
Aids in developing and implementing strategies to achieve program objectives safely and within agreed time, cost, technical, quality, and other performance criteria.
Participates in the control of costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system. Performs analyses and prepares reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
Develops plans including budgets and schedules to meet contractual/project requirements for several major portions of a program.
Has advanced expertise in DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements, advises colleagues on interpretation of standards within the context of Group’s contract objectives.
Impacts the direction and resource allocation for program, project or services; works within general Divisional/Group policies and industry guidelines.
Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to influence decisions.
Anticipates internal and or external business challenges and/or regulatory/ compliance issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.
May conduct operational effectiveness reviews to ensure functional or project systems are applied as designed, and function satisfactorily
