About The Position

Zippy is seeking a hands-on Default Servicing Manager to oversee and execute bankruptcy and replevin operations for their chattel loan portfolio. This role is crucial for efficiently moving accounts through default, managing legal workflows, and maximizing recoveries while controlling timelines and costs. The position requires an operator who can build processes, manage legal partners, and drive measurable performance improvements in a fast-paced, build-as-you-go environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in default servicing with direct ownership of bankruptcy and legal recovery processes
  • Strong working knowledge of bankruptcy procedures and UCC Article 9 (replevin)
  • Experience managing attorneys and legal vendors with a focus on performance and efficiency
  • Proven track record of improving timelines, recoveries, and operational execution
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, build-as-you-go environment
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to manage a pipeline, not just individual cases

  • Chattel, manufactured housing experience
  • Experience in a scaling or high-growth servicing platform

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end execution of bankruptcy (Ch. 7, 11, 13) workflows—filings, claims, timelines, and resolution
  • Management of replevin/legal recovery processes from referral through judgment and resolution
  • Day-to-day oversight of legal vendors with clear performance expectations, SLAs, and accountability
  • Driving cycle time reduction from default → legal resolution
  • Maximizing net recovery outcomes while managing legal expenses
  • Building and refining workflows, playbooks, and SOPs that scale
  • Real-time pipeline visibility and reporting (what’s stuck, what’s moving, what needs escalation)
  • Cross-functional coordination with Collections, Customer Experience, and Asset Management to ensure accounts progress through legal channels efficiently
  • Identifying bottlenecks in legal/default workflows and implementing solutions quickly
