About The Position

The Deep Freeze Yard Foreman is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the piling site, including equipment maintenance, personnel management, communications, and enforcement of safety and operation policies to achieve proper storage of a quality sugar beet crop. On all sites that have deep freeze systems, extra responsibilities and duties are ongoing. This role requires familiarity with all job duties at the site, including operating a piler, taking samples, and operating deep freeze equipment. The Foreman must enforce all American Crystal work rules, keep records of needed repairs and communicate with repair crews, and enforce Heat, Frost and Safety work policies. Ensuring only good beets are stored long-term, managing the crew for proper breaks, and maintaining a safe and clean worksite are key responsibilities. The Foreman will also communicate with piler crews, the ag repair crew, and ag staff, and is responsible for placing culvers where necessary in deep freeze piles. Other duties may be assigned. Safety measures must be practiced at all times.

Requirements

Familiarity with all job duties at the site including operation a piler, taking samples, operation of deep freeze equipment.
Skills, training, education, employee’s job performances evaluated by employee’s supervisor, employee’s disciplinary record and employee’s attendance record will be considered in determining the most qualified applicant.

Responsibilities

Provide direction and assistance with operating, repairing and maintaining piler and deep freeze equipment.
Enforce all American Crystal work rules.
Keep record of needed repairs and communications to the repair crews.
Enforce Heat, Frost and Safety work policies.
Ensure that only good beets are going into the long term storage piles.
Manage the crew so everyone gets their allowed breaks.
Maintain a safe and clean worksite.
Communicate with piler crews, ag repair crew and ag staff.
Responsible to get culvers placed where necessary in deep freeze piles.
Practice safety measures at all times.
