About The Position

EPES Transport, LLC., a division of Penske Logistics, is hiring a part-time Class A CDL truck driver based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The position is local and home daily, with no-touch freight. Drivers make store deliveries and return to the main distribution center, performing drop-and-hook work at store locations within 250 miles of Statesville, North Carolina. Drivers are expected to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and to operate safely while representing Penske and its clients. The schedule is a first-shift weekend schedule, Friday through Sunday, from 0600 to 1800, with Monday through Thursday off. Compensation is $0.67 per mile, with an average of $950 weekly and $47,500 annual W-2 earnings. Drivers use late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks equipped with comfort-focused specifications and inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL.
Must be domiciled in the United States and licensed in the state of residence.
Must hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
At least 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
Three-year DMV/MVR record with no more than two moving violations or accidents.
English language proficiency, as required for compliance with federal law.
Must complete a Penske employment application and submit to a background investigation, including past employment, education, and criminal history, and drug screening.
Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job, including required vision and hearing abilities, frequent movement, standing, walking, sitting, handling and reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.

Responsibilities

Perform drop-and-hook work at store locations within 250 miles of Statesville, North Carolina.
Make store deliveries and return to the main distribution center.

Follow applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance and work the required schedule at the specified location.
Operate in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner, taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
Safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
