About The Position

NOW Courier is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Independent Contractor to service a dedicated delivery route operating throughout the Fort Wayne and South Bend areas. This opportunity includes a consistent Monday, Wednesday, and Friday route, with OPTIONAL additional delivery work available Tuesday and Thursday, AND before the dedicated route Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. This is a great opportunity for a driver looking for consistent route work with the ability to take on additional deliveries throughout the week.

Requirements

• Own an SUV or larger vehicle.
• Vehicle must be a 2014 model year or newer.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Own a vehicle that can pass a multi-point inspection and is suitable for delivery.
• Possess a smartphone capable of running our driver app.
• Hold a valid driver's license.
• Possess commercial insurance coverage with a minimum of $300,000 combined single limit liability.
• Successfully pass a comprehensive pre-employment process including: Driving History Review (past 36 months), Criminal Background Check, and Substance Abuse (Drug) Screening.

• Optional additional delivery work is available Tuesday and Thursday, AND before the dedicated route Monday, Wednesday, & Friday.
• Opportunities may include: South Bend Area Monday, Wednesday & Friday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–11:00 AM covering Bremen, Plymouth, Bourbon, and Etna Green BEFORE the dedicated route. Tuesday & Thursday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or until completion covering the South Bend service area. Fort Wayne Area Monday, Wednesday & Friday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–11:00 AM covering Columbia City BEFORE the dedicated route. Tuesday & Thursday: Optional work approximately 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or until completion covering Fort Wayne service area, including Busco, Garrett, and Huntertown.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that cargo is picked up and delivered to our valued customers on time, maintaining NOW Courier's reputation for reliability and punctuality.
• Utilize GPS or mapping software to plan and follow efficient routes, ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fuel usage.
• Greet customers with professionalism and warmth, handling questions or issues with empathy.
• Think quickly and adapt when faced with challenges such as traffic delays or address changes to ensure smooth and efficient deliveries.
