About The Position

The Dedicated Account Leader is responsible for managing customer transportation operations, including driver support, load planning, dispatch, and customer service. This role works closely with drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable transportation services while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Dedicated Account Leader coordinates daily operations, optimizes fleet utilization, resolves service issues, and helps drive operational performance. This position plays a key role in supporting account success, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and contributing to the achievement of operational and financial goals. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to both customers and drivers.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Transportation and/or Logistics
  • Prior experience as an Account or Customer Service Manager
  • Knowledge of dedicated transportation operations, FMCSA, and DOT regulations preferred.
  • Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Demonstrated history of establishing positive working relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members
  • Excellent communication handling with ambiguity and change management
  • Intermediate skill-level in MS Excel and other MS Office Suite programs

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support drivers and operational staff.
  • Plan, coordinate, and dispatch dedicated fleet operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Monitor load planning, miles driven, and backhaul opportunities to maximize equipment utilization and efficiency.
  • Assist with billing, payroll, and expense management activities.
  • Resolve service issues, including delays, damages, documentation discrepancies, and customer concerns.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and fleet readiness.
  • Coordinate driver onboarding, training, certifications, and ongoing development.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to improve employee performance.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, customer, and company safety standards and policies.
  • Negotiate transportation rates and coordinate with carriers to provide cost-effective transportation solutions while maintaining service expectations.
  • Review invoices, expenses, and vendor payments for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor account performance and support profitability goals through effective operational management.
  • Conduct customer reviews and help support account growth and retention efforts.
  • Communicate customer needs, operational updates, and business objectives to employees and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer and business needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
