This exciting position for a Decoration Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used to decorate manufactured products (e.g., printing, labeling, embossing, or applying finishes). This role ensures that all decorated components meet quality standards and customer specifications while adhering to safety and production guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably in decoration or printing processes.
  • Minimum 1-3 years in plastics decoration within a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of plastic substrates and surface preparation techniques.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate specialized equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO standards).
  • Attention to detail and strong visual inspection skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface.
  • Plastic injection processes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor decoration machinery (e.g., pad printing, hot stamping, silk screening, laser marking).
  • Adjust settings for optimal performance and product quality.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure decoration feasibility and alignment with product specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve decoration-related issues during production runs.
  • Maintain and calibrate decoration equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on best practices and modern technologies.
  • Monitor quality control for decorated parts, ensuring adherence to customer requirements and internal standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in plastics decoration.
  • Coordinate with different areas for various decoration tests for registration and planning.
  • Apply the QCDM methodology to meet client requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis to improve the decoration process.
  • Conduct audits of the decoration process.
  • Monitor and comply with the production plan.
  • Implement corrective actions for the decoration process.
  • Search for and develop suppliers for the decorating process.
  • Ensure compliance with safety competencies.
  • Ensure performance standards: gap analysis, proposals, and implementation of actions.
  • Ensure training for fitters and fitter drivers through evaluations.
  • Ensure adequacy of needs/resources, optimizing planning.
