Ventus Executive Solutions is seeking an experienced Deckplate Performance Coach to support a critical U.S. Navy shipyard program focused on improving productivity, schedule adherence, and operational excellence while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. In this role, you will provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to front-line supervisors, strengthening leadership, workforce accountability, and execution of daily shipyard operations. You will coach supervisors on effective work planning, staging, communication, and ensuring personnel, tools, materials, and work packages are ready to support production goals. You will maintain a strong deckplate presence, providing real-time guidance to resolve barriers, improve work progress, and reinforce best practices for supervision and documentation. You will identify opportunities to increase productivity, improve shift handoffs, and enhance coordination between supervisors, supporting trades, and functional organizations. Additionally, you will mentor General Foremen and Area Superintendents on reinforcing effective supervisory behaviors to sustain long-term performance improvements. The ideal candidate will possess extensive Navy shipyard or industrial production experience, exceptional leadership and coaching skills, and the ability to influence personnel at all levels in a fast-paced operational environment. Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Supervisory experience in industrial environment within the shipbuilding/ship maintenance industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of second level management experience in an industrial environment within the shipbuilding/ ship maintenance industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading workforce productivity, schedule execution, and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of shipyard operations, work package execution, workforce management, and industrial safety practices.
  • Ability to effectively mentor, coach, and develop supervisors and management personnel.
  • Excellent verbal communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship required, active Secret clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Navy shipbuilding, submarine maintenance, or naval industrial operations.
  • Experience implementing productivity improvement and workforce development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with multi-shift industrial production environments.
