About The Position
The Deckhand supports marine dredging operations by performing a variety of tasks, including line handling, anchor operations, general labor, and equipment support. This role is essential to maintaining safe and efficient vessel and site operations and requires strong situational awareness, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.
Requirements
- One (1) year of experience working in the marine industry
- Ability to take direction and willingness to learn

Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maneuver around equipment and personnel in close quarters.
- Assist with setting, retrieving, and securing anchors and lines.
- Support dredging operations by handling discharge and suction pipelines, floats, and other components.
- Perform general housekeeping and maintenance duties on vessels and barges.
- Properly wear, use, and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators on HAZWOPER sites.
- Monitor the job site for hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and take direction from supervisors and environmental staff.
- Learn and follow safety regulations and company procedures.
- Take proactive steps to avoid hazards such as utility lines, equipment, and falling objects.
- Coordinate actions with other crew members using hand or audio signals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
