About The Position

The company is currently seeking both entry-level and experienced Deckhands to join its team. Deckhands play a vital role in preparing barges and equipment for loading and unloading cargo in a marine environment. This position involves hands-on work outdoors, rotational shift schedules, and the opportunity to be part of a respected and safety-focused organization.

Requirements

Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Physical capability to perform manual labor and use hand tools
Familiarity with safety protocols and procedures

Responsibilities

Handle lines and cables to secure and release crane rigs to and from barges and vessels
Inspect cables and rigging components on the crane deck for safety and functionality
Perform minor maintenance on equipment and machinery as needed
Provide clear directional signals to crane operators during operations
Lubricate crane buckets to ensure smooth operation
Assist in drafting barges and managing barge positioning
Open and close barge covers as required
Conduct general rigging and shifting of barges
Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards on decks, barges, and ship holds
Fuel equipment and cranes as necessary
Perform general upkeep and cleaning of the crane rig
Report all incidents promptly following company protocols
Support and participate in company safety initiatives
