About The Position

Tuacahn Amphitheatre is seeking a seasonal Deck Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a theatrical setting, with a strong knowledge of lighting systems, rigging, and special effects equipment. Responsibilities will include setting up, operating, and shutting down practical fixtures, as well as troubleshooting technical issues as needed. This position will also assist with channel and dimmer checks, as well as other pre and post show duties as assigned. We are looking for a collaborative, dependable professional eager to work with a team.

Requirements

  • Ability to collaborate with the lighting team to efficiently complete assigned projects
  • Ability to maintain a professional work environment that reports to the Lighting Crew Lead
  • Ability to work outside and overnight in a desert climate overnight
  • Ability to listen, take instruction, and to participate in a team to complete assigned tasks
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs
  • Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be comfortable with heights

Responsibilities

  • Complete deck tracks for the outdoor Broadway Season productions
  • Follow backstage instructions given by Stage Management and Lighting Crew Lead.
  • Be able to understand and execute provided run sheets
  • Assist with work calls and installations during technical rehearsals
  • Maintain flexible schedule for work calls especially during tech weeks
  • Report to house electrician for maintenance and upkeep of practical effects
  • Complete small repairs independently and follow communication chains for larger repairs
  • Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and maintain a safe work environment
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned.
