Deburrer
About The Position
The Deburrer removes burrs from manifolds using hand tools or automated processes. The role involves reviewing work instructions to determine the appropriate deburring method; manually deburring manifold blocks; and preparing, safety-checking, and operating a thermo deburring machine. The employee verifies preliminary runs, loads and unloads the machine, inspects manifold cavities for hidden burrs, checks finished manifolds for damage and contamination, and stacks finished products as instructed. Other duties may be assigned by management. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- No prior experience is required.
- Some mechanical aptitude.
- Basic ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to meet quality and entry-level productivity standards.
- Ability to stay on task for long periods.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to arrive at the workstation on time every day unless otherwise authorized.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to load and unload machines, including repetitive lifting and bending.
- Low sensitivity to sawdust.
- Must have U.S. work authorization; indefinite U.S. work authorization is required, and future sponsorship is unavailable.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to operate a manual pallet jack.
- Some familiarity with computers.
Responsibilities
- Review work instructions for manifolds and determine the deburring method.
- Manually deburr manifold blocks using files, drills, scrapers, brushes, and other hand tools.
- Prepare the thermo deburring machine by turning on gas, checking connections, and loading the program.
- Perform a safety check on the thermo deburring machine before operation.
- Run a preliminary job for verification.
- Load and unload the thermo deburring machine.
- Use a hand light to inspect manifold cavities for hidden burrs.
- Check completed manifolds for damage and contamination.
- Stack finished products on pallets or in crates according to work instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
