About The Position

Metal Arts Machine Co. is currently seeking an entry-level deburr operator to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for operating a variety of power and hand tools as well as deburring equipment to remove burrs, nicks, scratches, and rough and sharp edges. A typical workweek is 40 hours per week (five eight-hour days or four ten-hour days). Overtime may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or high school equivalency
One or more year or equivalent of similar work environment preferable
Ability to read work order instructions
Able to use a wide variety of tools
Ability to use vibratory hand tools for extended periods of time
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to professionally communicate and work well with others
Requires attention to detail and the ability to focus on safety, quality and productivity
Observes safety procedures by using equipment properly
Follows instructions and responds to management direction
Completes tasks on time

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of power/hand tools and standard deburr equipment to remove burrs, nicks, scratches, and rough and sharp edges
Select files or abrasives according to materials, sizes and shapes of workpieces
Visually check parts for compliance to quality and workmanship standards
Requires close visual attention while work is in progress to prevent damage to parts or equipment
Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work, including tool set-up and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation and material handling
Responsible only for own work
Perform other related duties as required
Perform routine maintenance on equipment and hand tools, determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
