About The Position

This position is responsible for performing all tasks on the Debone production line on a rotational basis. The technician will be expected to rotate through various positions, including cutting breasts and wings, pulling skin, using a saw, loading product, and tray packing. The role also emphasizes active participation as a team member, contributing to team concepts, programs, and policies, and fostering cohesiveness within the team. Familiarity with Simmons Operating Systems, including quality, security, and LEAN principles, is expected, along with a responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas. The position requires performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a cold environment down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Ability to stand/move about for 8-10 hours a day.
• Ability to perform required duties of the job to include but not limited to: reaching, standing, moving about and/or lifting.
• Constant moving about; bending & twisting of the neck; simple grasping; fine manipulation/feeling; reaching below shoulder level; repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands; use of vision and hearing.
• Occasional bending & twisting at the waist; pushing/pulling; talking.
• Must use waterproof footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s) and other protective equipment as needed or required.

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
• Military experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and supporting the team leader in resolving issues.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
