About The Position
The Dean of the Questrom School of Business at Boston University reports to the Provost and is responsible for establishing and executing a strategic vision for the school's educational and research objectives. This includes overseeing scholarship, academic programs, student success and career development, financial management, and stakeholder relations. The Dean is expected to foster an entrepreneurial spirit, collaborate with University stakeholders to advance institutional goals, and actively pursue development and fundraising opportunities, including participation in University campaigns. The role requires strong presence and communication skills to serve as a public advocate for the school. The Dean will advance educational excellence, scholarly research, and public service by articulating and implementing a strategic vision that capitalizes on interdisciplinary convergence, learning communities, and lived experiences at Boston University. Key responsibilities include elevating Questrom's research profile, recruiting, developing, and retaining outstanding faculty and staff, and providing strategic and operational leadership for the effective management of financial, human, and physical resources. Expanding resources through fundraising and stakeholder engagement is also a critical aspect of the role.
