About The Position

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking an innovative and visionary dean for the Collat School of Business (CSOB). The dean will lead the school's ongoing momentum and prepare students for success as leaders and business professionals through a balanced approach to teaching, research, and service. The Collat School of Business, founded shortly after the university in 1969, serves over 3,000 students, 60+ faculty, and 30+ staff. It is known for its high student retention rate, faculty engagement in high-impact research, rigorous degree and certificate programs, and year-round internship and applied learning opportunities. The school boasts approximately 24,000 global alumni and occupies a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2018, funded in part by community support. Its prime location in Birmingham, Alabama's business center, allows for integration of practical experiences from leading companies into its programs. The dean is the chief academic and executive officer, reporting to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, and is responsible for leading the School's core academic functions, furthering the University's mission, and engaging with the greater Birmingham community through education and business innovation support.
