About The Position

Southeastern Louisiana University is seeking an innovative, collaborative, student-centered, and externally engaged academic leader for the position of Dean of the College of Nursing. The Dean will be responsible for advancing excellence in nursing education, expanding the University's contribution to Louisiana's healthcare workforce, and shaping the future of the College. As the chief academic and administrative officer of the College, the Dean reports to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. This role involves providing strategic leadership for academic programs, faculty and staff, enrollment and student success, accreditation, resource stewardship, external partnerships, advancement, and innovation. The College of Nursing is transitioning into a focused, standalone academic college, offering the new Dean an opportunity to build upon existing strengths and establish a clear vision for future growth.

Requirements

An earned Doctorate in Nursing or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
A current, unencumbered Registered Nursing license and eligibility for licensure in Louisiana.
A record of teaching, scholarship, professional practice, and/or service appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
Significant progressively responsible academic administrative or leadership experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of nursing accreditation, regulatory standards, program assessment, and professional licensure requirements.
Experience with academic budgeting, personnel management, and resource allocation.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, institutional leaders, and external partners.
